2008 Summer camps
Crowborough Summer Camp 2008 - With just one week to go before the Crowborough Summer Camp here are some details about the two world class instructors who will be taking the two days.

Saturday 23rd August - Mr Mark Davies (Self Defence and weapons expert)

Mr Davies started training in weapons arts in 1985 starting in Japanese BuJutsu & Filipino Kali. He holds instructors credentials in several different South East Asian, Korean, Japanese & Western edged & impact weapons systems & he's the European representative of Master at Arms James A Keating & Europes only Full ComTech Instructor under him (MAA Keating is widely regarded as the worlds foremost authority on the use of edged weapons in actual combat). What makes his self defence tuition unique is the experience Mr Davies gained in 19 years working as security in Pubs & Nightclubs, in VIP Protection & other occupations where he had to face violent attacks of all types. He teaches self defence from experience not just theory! Mr Davies has provided Close Combat instruction to military Special Forces units from around the world, & he is an Instructor with UK Special Forces who use his Tactical Edge system in life or death situations on battlefields all over the world.

Sunday 24th August - Sensei Sean Connley (JuJitsu)

Sensei Connley have been in the martial arts for 30 years firstly learning Karate (style - Okinawan Goju-Ryu), where he obtained 1st Dan Black Belt, followed by Kickboxing, also obtaining 1st Dan Black Belt, and finally self defence and Ju-Jitsu, where he has obtained 4th Dan Black Belt. Ju-Jitsu has become his main martial art.

Back in the late 1980s he was a doorman for 5 years at one of Brighton's top night clubs. He was also very lucky to be invited to attend to number of seminars over a past 10 years to train with a number of special forces. He has competed in tournaments at the highest level, and trained with some experienced instructors such as Leon Jay, Phil Brown, Terry Cafttory, Alan Sailly and most recently Elliott Freeman (who is one of Steven Segal’s top students). In 2004, he was privileged to receive an award in the Black Belt Hall of Fame for his services to the Martial Arts.
